Patrick is the Managing Partner of Beachwood Ventures, a venture capital and advisory firm he founded in 2018. He currently serves as an Advisor to Mineral Answers, a technology platform that brings transparency to mineral ownership, and as a Mentor at Capital Factory in Austin, Texas. Patrick specializes in fundraising, strategy, operations, and talent acquisition. As a U.S. Marine, Patrick is passionate about employing veterans in leadership positions across the portfolio.
From 2015 to 2020, Patrick was Co-Founder and President of Accelerate Resources, a technology- and data-driven energy company that specializes in the acquisition and management of upstream oil and gas assets. Accelerate is backed with $300 million by New York-based private equity firm Pine Brook Partners, and through 150 acquisitions, Accelerate built a portfolio that is in the top 7% in the U.S. by well results. During his tenure, Patrick led Accelerate through two of the worst oil price crashes in recent history, including the first negative oil price ever. He successfully negotiated an additional $100 million of capital investments during this time, and led Accelerate to be one of the few energy companies with positive cash flow in 2020.
For the past 16 years, Patrick has served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps. He completed two combat tours to Iraq, as an infantry platoon commander and a Recon Company Commander. Patrick is a two-time recipient of the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal and continues to serve as a Major. He is a graduate of the Marine Corp University’s Command & Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School, and was the top academic graduate in his class at The Basic School.
Patrick holds an MBA from the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, where he was a Roy H. Park Leadership Fellow and Nolan Scholar. He earned a BA in Economics and Government from the University of Texas at Austin and is a recipient of the Frank J. Ruck Leadership Award. Patrick serves on the Johnson Advisory Council at Cornell.
Patrick is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and serves on the National Council for the American Enterprise Institute, a public policy think tank. He was recently recognized as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year® nominee, a Dallas Business Journal 40 under 40 awardee, and an Oil and Gas Investor Forty under 40 honoree. Patrick resides in Dallas and enjoys fly fishing, spending time in the mountains, and studying geopolitics.
