John (aka: “Hinge') serves as Technical & Development leader for the wind turbine program. During and prior to joining Hover, he had an exciting and diverse 20-year career with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he led teams developing unique sensor technologies that advanced capability for underseas, terrestrial, airborne, and space platforms. During his tenure in Executive Management at NGC, he led the standalone Power & Controls business, where he was responsible for $250MM in annual revenue and a team of 450 people.
Prior to NGC, Hinge served in the US Air Force. His 20-year career included Squadron Command, Combat Fighter Pilot (call sign "Hinge"), Subject Matter Expert in Radar & Sensors, Technology Development & Acquisition, and author of multiple courseware and plans. His many leadership roles and technical background provide the foundation for the successful development of Hover’s wind turbine prototypes and preparation for production manufacturing.
Hinge earned dual B.S. degrees in Aerospace Sciences and Physics at the United States Air Force Academy, an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Embry Riddle Aeronautics University, and his Acquisition Professional Course Cat 1 from the Defense Acquisition University. He also completed the Executive Leadership and Management Program at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, as well as the Executive Program in Globalization Market & Business Relations from INSEAD International Business School.
Hinge and his wife Erin have recently retired in Colorado. Obviously not understanding the term “retired”, Hinge is doing lots with the USAF Academy, serious woodworking, their church, home projects, and of course Hover Energy. With three horses, the Fagnants are enjoying the Colorado lifestyle and look forward to international travel and visits with their four kids and three grandchildren
