Gentry has more than 20 years of experience identifying and unlocking value within companies. He began his career as an investment banker on Morgan Stanley’s Energy team in New York and left the firm in 2000 to co-manage Solstice Equity, a Bass Family fund invested in the commodities sectors. In 2005, he moved his team to Touradji Capital Management, where they managed a portfolio of public and private investments.
In 2009, Gentry co-founded Vollero Beach Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on equity investments in the commodities sectors. In 2016, he rolled the company into Citadel, one of the world’s largest investment firms. Gentry then co-founded and currently co-manages Highground Holdings, a global organization that makes private investments in transformational businesses across a wide variety of sectors including commodities, technology, and consumer goods.
Gentry earned a B.S. in Economics with a Concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife of 20 years and their five children. Gentry enjoys global travel, hunting, and fishing.
