Dallas-based Hover Energy, a leading provider of microgrid solutions, has announced its expansion in the United Kingdom, appointing Al Cory as Executive Director, UK, and Hannah Staunton as Director of Partnerships, UK.

The move reflects rising demand from developers, asset owners and infrastructure operators for practical ways to deliver energy resilience and meet net zero targets at site level.

Hover Energy’s mission is to create resilience by delivering boutique, technologically advanced microgrids that enable businesses and public-sector organisations to generate, store and manage their own energy. The systems can be retrofitted into existing estates and infrastructure or built into new developments from the start, turning the built environment into its own power source, reducing dependence on the grid and creating reliable, effortless continuity.

Chris Griffin, CEO & Founder of Hover Energy, said:

“We’ve always believed the future of energy lies in decentralised, resilient systems that work locally and connect globally. The UK offers the perfect conditions: a clear sustainability agenda, strong innovation culture, and organisations that understand the value of resilience. Bringing Al and Hannah into leadership roles signals our commitment to building lasting partnerships and delivering meaningful impact.”

The UK represents a key step in Hover Energy’s international growth. With its ambitious goals to help the world deliver real net zero, improve the resilience of critical infrastructure and modernise public assets, the UK market is ready for solutions combining innovation and practicality.

Hover Energy’s systems are designed for the real world: large developments, transport hubs, campuses and industrial estates that need to stay operational regardless of grid pressure. The company’s approach makes energy part of the infrastructure itself: generating, storing and managing power on site to create self-sufficient, lower-carbon environments.

Hover Energy already works with recognised names across technology, infrastructure and construction. In the United States, it has collaborated with IBM to integrate its microgrid control systems into IBM’s Maximo Application Suite.

Hover Energy’s technology is now being positioned for wider use across estates, regeneration projects and complex developments where reliability and sustainability must go hand in hand.

Al Cory, Executive Director, UK, said:

“The UK has a unique mix of ambition and capability in infrastructure. Clients here want proven solutions that make resilience part of the design, not an afterthought. Hover’s technology gives them that: a way to integrate energy security and sustainability into the fabric of a project at every stage.”

Hannah Staunton, Director of Partnerships, UK, said:

“Hover’s frontier technology sits right at the point where innovation meets purpose: practical solutions that genuinely help organisations build a better, more resilient future. What drew me to Hover is the clarity of its ambition and the sincerity of its ethos. This is a company that believes technology should serve people and places, not the other way round.”
